An Engineering Challenge with Real Results

The Victorian Model Solar Vehicle Challenge is an engineering competition undertaken by hundreds of school aged competitors drawn from across Victoria.  Participants range from Grade 3 to Year 12, design and construct their own vehicle, be it a car or a boat, powered solely by photovoltaic solar panels, and learn legitimate skills in mechanical engineering, sustainability and teamwork. The constructed vehicles can be highly optimised machines with surprising power. The best designs in each division may go on to compete in the Australian International Model Solar Challenge, against the other teams from across Australia and around the world. Past students have found a passion in design and engineering and have studied in these fields at RMIT, Monash and Swinburne universities.

It all starts with You!
